Cat keeps pissing on clothes? Hey
So recently my cat has been pissing on piles of clothes around my house. Mostly piles of dirty clothes but yesterday she pissed on a pile of clean clothes. I usually keep clean clothes in a basket and sort dirty clothes in my parents closet on the floor. Why is she doing this? Is it because the litter box isn't clean? My sister, who is 10, cleans it every night. Is she not cleaning it right? We also have another cat which is her biological sister but of the two she is very mellow and is not very aggressive. What can i do?
Thanks |
| Is she spayed? Cats will often mark things when they are in heat, esp. dirty clothes or beds (anything that smells like their owners). If she is, then it could be stress. Has anything in your house changed lately? Cats are very susceptible to changes in their environment and can act out if they are unhappy or stressed by what is going on around them. |
How can I get my cat to stop pissing on my gym bag? And whats the best way to clean the bag already soiled? I have a female indoor cat. I think she's attracted to the smell of my gym bag after I bring it home with my sweaty clothes in it. Don't ask me why. She then likes to piss on it. Her litter box isn't full, and I don't have a real problem with her pissing anywhere else in the house. |
well get in the habit of putting your jym bag in a closet or something where she cannot get to it. throw the jym bag in the washer on hot with detergent and a couple cups of vinegar.
it should help remove the smell. i would suggest bleach, but that might alter the color of the bag. she may still be able to smell pee on the bag even after washing so kepp it away from her and don't leave smelly clothes in there for long. she might also be thinking to herself, "hey, this smells like my dad, i'm going to mark it so any other cats know he is my dad". ahhhh! she's so sweet.
ps. don't get rid of the cat, and she is not mad at you she is just attracted to the scent. it's natural and nothing to punish her for. |
How can you get your cat to quit pissing on your furniture? He has been neutered and declawed. Any sugestions on how to ge the smell out of furniture and clothing? |
neutering doesn't always prevent spraying and if you neuter the cat after he has already started spraying then the behavior will still continue-two things need to happen for him to stop
1) he needs to be trained not to spray; this should be done without anger, yelling, or physical violence-cats do not respond well to being spanked or yelled at and this will only make the behavior worsen. I would try either giving him rewards for not spraying or squirting water at him and firmly saying "no" whenever he is about to. Also never rub his nose in it and never punish him for spraying unless you catch him in the act.
2.) there are alot of great products out there to help remove the odor from your furniture-it is a hard odor to remove and if he can still smell his urine on something then he will still think it's ok to spray
I did a search on petsmart.com for such products and this is what came up:
www.petsmart.com/global/search/se…
if you see something you might like then click on the product and read the product review written by other consumers who've bought and tried that product-this will help you find a product that works instead of trying a bunch without knowing what others who used it had to say about it
also, petvideo.com has two short informational videos on cat's spraying that you might find interesting, here's the link for that:

How do i keep my non spayed cat from pissing on furniture and things? Everytime my cat goes into heat she always sprays on my furniture and clothes. I know i have to spay her and everytime i wanna get her fixed she goes into hear. I need help now shes in heat!!! HELP ME lol |
The only way to stop it is to get her fixed. Make her appt as soon as she ends her heat cycle.
While she's getting fixed clean everything she's sprayed with a 50/50 white vinegar and warm water solution, so when she gets back those spots won't smell like kitty litter to her. |
Does anyone know a store that sells clothing that pisses others off? By this I mean clothes like the communist hammer and sickle, a marijuana t-shirt, an anti-religious t shirt etc...? I know plenty of online ones but do they sell clothes like these at stores and if so list some store name's please?? |
| I've seen some catalogs that sell this kind of weird clothing etc. Never in regular stores though. |
Cat Problem Pissing on stuff? My Brother-laws cat Peanut he's 11 years old, he's been pissing in places where he shouldn't be. His litter back is clean but he's been pissing on clothes, towels, the carpet what can be done to stop this problem? |
| get him nutered |
Why is my cat pissing on clean clothes? I'm writing at this time because yesterday morning, my female cat was pissing on a clean blanket that was right next to me while I was sleeping!! And a few hours ago, I found out that she also pissed on my underwear inside my drawer!!
She started doing that randomly. The 1st time she did that was on a pile of dirty clothes, I thought it was just because they were dirty, but then it got worse.
She then started pissing on piles of clean clothes every other month. I thought it was because the litter box was dirty so I did not blame her.
Now, I realized that it is happening frequently and I don't know what to do. Before the time that she pissed right next to me while I was sleeping, I had washed her litterbox an put clean litter, she uses feline pine which she likes. I don't think the litterbox is the problem.
She is spayed and she is 4 yrs. old she has never done that before, so I think is strange that she is doing that at this point of her life.
***Please I ask for your advise, if you know what maybe happening or had a similar experience tell me.
***Also, How can I correct her behavior without stressing her out?? |
Make sure to keep all drawers closed and no laundry laying around. Clean or dirty. Something may be bothering her and she just does not know how to let you know. Have you had her checked by your vet for a urinary tract infection? Did you add a new pet or even a baby to the house recently. Any changes at all? I know she has always been good with feline pine but I will still consider trying something different. Keep the original box where it is and add a 2nd beside it to see what she is using.
Is she doing this more when you are sleeping, away, home, or just whenever? You might want to consider putting her stuff in a bathroom and keeping her in there for a short while so that you can keep a good eye on why she is doing this. (when she is not out with you of course) But be very careful because cats do not like "being in trouble", this can cause them to rebel and act out just because they don't know what else to do.
I would for sure contact your vet and let him/her know. It might be a UTI that needs medication to clear it up. Good luck. |
How do UK away-from-home students afford university? I didn't want to complicate things so limited it to the UK, not that I am suggesting the UK is more expensive than other countries. I am at university but I stayed at home. I live at home with the parents do not work and do not have a social life and only money I have is from the student loans yet I seem to just about manage on this. How do those who go away to another city to study fund their accomodation, food, clothes, getting pissed every night, etc? How much loan do they get? Surely they aren't all rich guys? |
Hello there, i am from Cyprus and i have studied in UK
Since Cyprus is in european union - and any other country in the EU, including UK students who want to study in another city, they can complete a form, and the european union is paying for the university. so that is resolved.
now for the accomodation and the pocket money, i did a loan here in cyprus (student loan was about 23k, and i can start paying it off as soon as i get a job)
UK students have the student loans to help them but eu students dont, we need to make one from our own country.
Hope this is any help to you! |
